Senior Manager, Business Development - Resiliency (Grant Funded)
Job Description
We are currently seeking a Sr. Manager for Business Development as a part of the College's Resiliency initiative who will advance the institution’s proud tradition of excellence in academics, student life and community service.
Job Summary
The Senior Manager, Business Development will prospect, market, build, and maintain customer relationships and contracts with other organizations for the purpose of selling Resiliency Initiative training services to Corporate, Industry, Government and Non-profit entities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Research, identify and qualify new markets, customers, learning needs, and develop new sales programs to meet them; generate new sales opportunities for HCC products and services.
Build, establish, and maintain strategic relationships with corporate customers and partners to ensure high-level customer service/satisfaction at all levels.
Consult with customers on education and training needs; conduct primary education and training needs analysis with assistance as required; assess HCC capabilities to meet customer needs; develop learning solutions to meet those needs; prepare winning proposals and negotiates customer agreements/contracts.
Develop/present new business growth strategies/methods for increasing sales to new and current clients.
Initiate, prospect, develop, and follow up on training sales account opportunities; initiate mail and telephone contacts, secure appointments, etc.
Create and maintain individual customer marketing plans and proposals.
Maintain ongoing contact with current customers to increase the value of existing training programs and services.
Research, compile and maintain list of prospective customers for purposes of expanding customer base.
Anticipate client's needs, and identify appropriate alternatives.
Assist in the design and development of marketing materials and strategies.
Present new training products or services to customers and solicit orders; acquire price quotes and credit terms as necessary.
Prepare reports of business transactions and maintain records of business expenses.
Organize and conduct internal sales planning sessions.
Familiarize self with major new programs and upcoming initiatives.
Conduct business reviews and follow-ups with existing customers.
Perform other duties, tasks and assignments as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field required
- 5 years related experience, including 2 years supervision experience required
Licensing & Certification
- Valid Texas Driver License

Working Conditions
General office. May frequently be required to walk; stand; sit; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision. Use of personal computing equipment, telephone, multi-functioning printer, photocopier, file cabinets, and calculator. Manual dexterity, ability to lift up to 25 pounds, ability to reach and bend, and use 2-step stool while safely lifting and lowering boxes. Ability to travel to and from meetings, training sessions or other business-related events. May be required to work after hours to include weekends and holidays.
