Position Summary

Postdoctoral Research Associate position in single cell data analysis and machine learning is available in the lab of Dr. Sabine Dietmann at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri, USA. We create innovative computational approaches for multi-omics single-cell data analysis and analysis of RNA modifications by nanopore direct RNA sequencing. Our lab is affiliated with the AI community at the Institute of Informatics, and we work with convolutional and graph neural networks. We also collaborate with experimental and clinical labs on human blastoids and embryoids, aging and Alzheimer’s disease (profiles.wustl.edu/en/persons/sabine-dietmann ).

Required Qualifications

  • Applicants should have a Ph.D. or master’s degree in Biology, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Physics or related field plus demonstrated relevant research experience.
  • We are seeking talented candidates with high proficiency in scientific programming languages, such as R and Python.
  • A good understanding of machine learning frameworks in Python (Keras and PyTorch), experience with creating R packages, github and web repositories, and some background in single cell data analysis, epigenetics, or RNA modifications would be very beneficial for this research.

Working Conditions

This position works in a laboratory environment with potential exposure to biological and chemical hazards. The individual must be physically able to wear protective equipment and to provide standard care to research animals.

Salary Range

Base pay is commensurate with experience.
