Purpose:

The Senior Associate Director of Full-time (FTMBA) Admissions will be a member of the FTMBA admission committee. You will develop and implement strategies for the discovery and cultivation of prospective students, both domestically and internationally, to produce high-quality FTMBA applicants and achieve high yield rates. 

The Senior AD will manage three staff responsible for coordinating prospective student outreach, applicant interviews, prospective and admitted student events, candidate communications, the on-campus visit experience, 300 student ambassadors and 200 alumni interviewers. The Senior AD will collaborate with all levels of partners senior leadership, faculty, students, marketing communications staff, alumni, and external partners to create and coordinate compelling marketing content and recruiting events (e.g., mock classes by faculty, alumni career panels, current student panels, Center & Institute info sessions). Also, the Senior AD will represent Michigan Ross at events around the world working with prospects, alumni, and major employers and university peers.

The Senior AD will be assigned to a specific domestic and international territory for recruiting and may also be assigned a target segment. You will report to the Director of FTMBA Admissions.

Responsibilities:

Lead strategic projects to improve admissions outreach, recruitment, and yield: Plan and coordinate projects to increase application volume, admitted student yield. Partner with IT, Marketing & Communications, and other units to develop and coordinate admissions technology needs and website updates. Create targeted and general email outreach campaigns,  press releases, social media. Oversee communications with applicants. Lead planning of signature admissions events including interview weekends, visit days, and admitted student weekends. Manage recruitment budget and measure outcomes of projects to ensure most use of resources. 

Supervise Assistant Directors and Admissions Marketing Coordinator: Hire and train staff who coordinate the admissions interview process, mentors admissions interviewers and ambassadors, plans and executes admissions events, develops communications plans, and designs and sends admissions emails.

Represent Michigan Ross to prospective students: Travel and attend recruitment and admitted student events globally. Participate in recruitment events including live events, virtual chats, and Q&A sessions. Provide customized content to prospective students throughout the multiple stages of the admissions process. In some cases, creating personalized communication plans.

Evaluate applicants and make recommendations for admission: Serve on the admissions committee, read, evaluate, and deliberate applications for admission and financial aid, and participate in admission reader training. Maintain knowledge of degree programs of international institutions of higher education. 

Manage Internal & External Partnerships: Manage external partnerships with diversity pipeline-building organizations and evaluate potential new partnerships. Work with Marketing & Communications and Admissions Director to create content (digital, presentations and print) targeted for influencer organizations, social media and traditional media. Coordinate efforts with other externally-facing units throughout the school to use contacts to identify high-quality prospective students and recruiting opportunities.

Identify and recruit students and alumni to support recruitment and yield efforts: Develop partnerships with student leaders to support admissions outreach and engagement efforts and to foster an inclusive and engaging culture. Develop a student engagement strategy that uses student time, facilitates feedback, and communicate with student groups. Create opportunities and manage processes for current students, staff, and alumni to engage with prospective students. Maintain relationships with alumni who serve as admissions office volunteers as connection points for prospective students and identity opportunities to improve volunteer experience. Coordinate efforts with other externally-facing functions throughout the school to use contacts to identify high-quality prospective students and recruiting opportunities.

Lead the planning and execution of visit and recruitment experiences designed to improve admissions outreach, recruitment, and yield: Manage a budget focused on strategic opportunities to improve admissions outreach, recruitment, and yield. Measure outcomes of multiple projects to ensure most use of funding. Plan and participate in signature admissions events including interview weekends, visitation days, and admitted student weekends.

Evaluate applicants and make recommendations for admission: Serve on the admissions committee, read, evaluate, and deliberate applications for admission and financial aid, and participate in admission reader training. Maintain knowledge of degree programs of international institutions of higher education.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 8 years of related experience in admissions, recruiting, marketing or consulting including assessing candidates, evaluating talent and building relationships
  • Experience managing complex projects, developing detailed project plans, and organizing and analyzing data.

Salary Information: The general salary range for this position is $77,000 - $86,000. You can expect to be paid a great compensation package. Factors used to determine salary include experience, knowledge and skills for the position. You are encouraged to discuss salary questions to honor alignment and transparency throughout the recruiting process.
