Program Coordinator, Student Support Services

Class Description

The purpose of this class is to provide professional level support to operation of the assigned program.  This is a grant-funded posiiton. 
Compensation within the posted range is determined by a candidate's education level and/or years of experience in the field.  Generally, employees are hired in the lower third of the scale

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree and four years of experience in Counseling, Psychology, Student Personnel Administration or related field of related work experience, preferably with students from disadvantaged backgrounds. Master’s degree preferred. In the event remote working is required, access to internet and a computer with a webcam and microphone is required. Must have a valid driver’s license in good standing with violation points less than five (5).

Class Specific Essential Duties

1. Advise students about academic requirements for graduation and transfer and assist with the selection of courses.
2. Oversee the collection of quantitative and qualitative educational data related to program goals and objectives.
3. Coordinate tutoring program.
4. Maintain a caseload of program participants.
5. Monitor academic and educational progress of program participants.
6. Monitor financial literacy training.
7. Maintain student records and files.
8. Conduct workshops and orientation sessions, as required.

Position Specific Essential Duties

1. Provide direct services related to preparing participants for graduation, transfer, and successful completion of four-year baccalaureate programs.
2. Provide counseling services to individuals and/or groups to enhance the likelihood of achieving success and transferring to a four-year institution.
3. Assess tutoring needs of students; hire tutors; and coordinate the tutoring component of the program.
 4. Develop and present academic success seminars.
5. Recruit students for the program through classroom visits, attendance at student involvement fairs and college technology.
6. Remain knowledgeable about the College, its structure, culture, policies, and practices.
7. Coordinate student activities programming for program participants.
