Responsibilities

This position within the Division of Cancer Genetics and Prevention in collaboration with faculty investigators and the research team will be responsible for day-to-day coordination and overall management of assigned protocols related to expanding the reach of genetic education and testing and overseeing national/and or institutional projects related to cancer prevention, early identification of individuals at high risk for cancer, and biorepository collections. This position is also responsible for data collection and management, and overall project management of national and/or institutional multi-disease genetics databases. This position requires familiarity and experience managing multiple projects, will require the individual to work on an increasingly independent basis with minimal supervision.

  • Responsible for day-to-day oversight and management of assigned projects.
  • Assists investigators with protocol and consent form development. Responsible for regulatory submissions including initial IRB applications and amendments and maintaining regulatory binders.
  • Responsible for case report form design with investigator directives. Maintains study-related databases and prepares protocol-related reports as needed.
  • Collaborates with disease-specific faculty investigators and other team members on data transfers, data cleaning, creating large datasets and other data management issues for cancer prevention research.
  • Scheduling and facilitating research team meetings and conference calls, creating meeting agenda and taking notes, facilitating mailings, maintaining project timelines, and other project-related administrative tasks.
  • Determines patient eligibility, including data extraction from electronic medical records and may be responsible for recruitment, consenting and enrollment of study participants.
  • Designs processes for maintaining timely, complete, and high-quality data collection.
  • Assist senior manager(s) in the development of a project plan that serves as a guiding document that provides overall direction, expectation of deliverables and stated milestones for the participating sites to ensure the success of the project.
  • Responsible for assuring that the project team meets all deadlines and is also to maintain an ongoing working relationship with Research team and Principal Investigators.
  • May be responsible for specimen management, depending on assigned project.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a field related to clinical research
  • 3-5 years experience with project management and experience working on clinical research
  • Experience in an academic institution and proven history of success in clinical research is preferred
  • Must have knowledge of regulatory affairs, research ethics and the responsible conduct of research

  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent ability to work independently and balance multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to work as a member of a team
