According to its founding documents, the IDEA Center was built to do five things: educate students, help the university be a force for good in the world, attract better faculty, improve the economic vitality of our community, fiscally responsible. The IDEA Center will fulfill these mandates by creating an entrepreneurial ecosystem to drive an economic turnaround in our community. the greatest obstacle is a limited base of entrepreneurial talent, so the IDEA Center is creating the Business Program Director in Resident, one year limited term, role for recent graduates of the ESTEEM program to launch companies or support new initiatives for startups from our region. This role will coordinate the activities of various stakeholders, including governing boards who help guide the strategic direction of the startup, technical teams who will execute the functions of the startup, and student interns who will help run its operations. Bye one year end it should be clear if the startup or initiative is viable and has secured enough funding to continue on its own in the future.
Position Requires: Creating and executing long term and short term marketing and strategy plans to increase the number of customer for the program. Setting targets for milestones, communicating plans with leadership through board meetings, and adhering to deadlines. Delegating tasks to any stakeholder partners responsible for building and executing the program. Performing quality control and interviewing users of the product to evaluate performance and control for quality. Support any fundraising or benefaction activities, including making pitch decks and presenting to interested parties. This position reports directly to John Henry.

Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree or Bachelor’s degree (5 years) or advanced certification beyond Bachelor’s
- 6 to 12 months experience working with start-ups. In order to fulfill this role, candidates much have the following skills, education, experience.
- Empathy to understand people’s needs, problem solving skills, time management, interpersonal skills decision making ability and project management.
