Temp IT Analyst - Hesburgh Libraries

Job Description

The IT Systems Analyst is responsible for assessing technology needs and designing and implementing technology solutions in support of the Hesburgh Libraries’ staff, faculty, and end users. This position will work with various departments and individuals, collaborating on projects and advising on technology solutions that support the Hesburgh Libraries’ strategic goals and initiatives. The role involves managing IT projects such as system and technology deployment and upgrades, performing quality assurance testing, developing documentation and training materials, and collaborating with team members on user administration, security, and networking. They will also work with library staff and end-users to identify new technology needs, procure and implement technology, and provide some end-user support for events and executive leadership.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Designs and implements technology solutions for library needs in collaboration with campus partners and vendors, utilizing standard project management practices and providing regular management updates
  • Plan and manage project tasks, update documentation, and work with quality assurance and usability professionals
  • Performs installation, configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrades to a wide range of software applications (please see minimum qualifications)
  • Provide on-site technical support to staff, faculty, and students for classrooms, labs, and special events
  • Continuously researches and experiments with emerging technologies

Minimum Qualifications


  • Associate’s degree or up to 3 years of college or technical school in a technology-related field or combination of IT training and demonstrated IT experience
  • Experience building, deploying, and managing computer operating systems
  • Experience managing endpoint computing using Active Directory, MECM, Casper, or similar systems
  • Experience with various IT and consumer electronics, mobile devices, and media equipment
  • Strong knowledge of Windows and MacOS
  • Knowledge of networking hardware and software, network protocols, and network management
  • Strong customer service skills, with experience in user training or technical support
  • Ability to handle interpersonal communication with tact, courtesy, discretion, and patience
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical, problems solving, project management, and methodology skills
  • Ability to work independently without close supervision
  • Ability to document processes and procedures using available tools
  • Strong verbal and written skills
