The College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) IT group provides technology support to CALS departments in the NC State community. This includes support for administrative, academic, and research computing, along with a wide variety of computing and computing support services. CALS IT provides services and support to the entire college Administration and also provides support to Departmental and Research units.
Essential Job Duties
This position is primarily responsible for providing on-site IT, A/V, and multimedia support services to the college.
Duties include but are not limited to:

- Provide specific technical expertise to faculty and staff in areas such as instructional operations and e-Learning services.
- Manage & support IT needs for classrooms, conference rooms, and computer labs.
- Maintain & support computer and AV tech in teaching and learning spaces.
- Maintain & support interactive and display technologies in CALS.
- Act as a liaison between CALS IT and AV vendors.
- Provide primary support for A/V, conferencing, multimedia hardware and applications, wired and wireless networking
- Provide Large Format Printing services for CALS Faculty and Students.
- Communicate and engage daily with users, management, and other stakeholders.
- Actively manage incident management tickets, responding quickly to customer requests, and managing tasks to completion.

Minimum Education and Experience
- Associate’s degree in Computer Information Technology, Computer Technology Integration; Networking Technology, or related areas and four years of experience in the Information Technology field related to the position’s role; or a Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of experience related to the position’s role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Other Required Qualifications
- Minimum of two years of experience with A/V integration and support.
- Microsoft Windows Win 10/11 and Apple macOS support.
- Experience with ITSM solutions, such as ServiceNow or Remedy.
- Must be able to use a computer keyboard and mouse.
- Ability to communicate and work independently.
- Ability to work on a team with colleagues and external solution providers.
- Strong analytical skills and solution development skills.
- Project Management and vendor relationship skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to transport, manipulate, and operate power tools, climb ladders, and install bulky or heavy equipment required.
- Employees must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Extron A/V Associates Certification, CTS certification.
- Experience with Extron or Crestron A/V components, lecture capture, and conferencing technologies such as Zoom, Google Meet, Webex, Polycom, or Skype.
- Experience working in Higher education with an emphasis in a research environment.
- Active Directory and JAMF experience; computer imaging.
- Experience with Large Format Printers and printing posters.
- Demonstrated vendor engagement experience.
Required License(s) or Certification(s)
- Valid NC driver’s license or the ability to obtain within 60 days of start.
