Posting Summary
The Early Learning Research Academy seeks an administrative assistant. The function of the role will serve in a key position as the hub of communication and first contact for prospective and enrolled families. This role requires a style that is both personable and efficient in order to convey a positive first impression of the early childhood program. The administrative assistant will support several priorities such as front desk management, school administration/ licensing coordination, student recruitment, and coordination of enrollment and various other clerical duties as needed. This incumbent will interact regularly with parents/families, teachers, and staff for help in obtaining information, forms, supplies, or services.
The Early Learning Research Academy is a program under the Rutgers-Camden Community Leadership Center serving 300+ students from infancy through pre- school every year. The Early Learning Research Academy (ELRA) provides early education programs for children and families from infancy through pre-school. Every year, it serves 316 infants, toddlers and preschoolers in Camden City. ELRA also capitalizes on the research mission of Rutgers by documenting learning and advancing research in early childhood education.

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
 · Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and/or experience 
Certifications/Licenses

· Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and diplomatic skills when interacting with children and adults
· A strong ability to multi-task and remain focused and good-humored under pressure
· Superior written and verbal communication skills
· Proficiency in MS Office
· Ability to work comfortably with quickly shifting priorities and interruptions
· Ability to use discretion with confidential information, as this position is exposed to information regarding families and students that must be kept confidential at all times
· Knowledge of NJ Licensing requirements for childcare centers as well as DHS requirements a plus

Immunization Requirements


Under Policy 60.1.35 Immunization Policy for Rutgers Employees and Prospective Employees , Rutgers University requires all prospective employees to provide proof that they are fully vaccinated and have received a booster (where eligible) against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption. Employees who are not eligible for a booster at the time of an offer of employment must provide proof they have received a booster upon eligibility and upload proof of same. Under Policy 100.3.1 Immunization Policy for Covered Individuals , if employment will commence during Flu Season, Rutgers University may require certain prospective employees to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption. Additional infection control and safety policies may apply. Prospective employees should speak with their hiring manager to determine which policies apply to the role or position for which they are applying. Failure to provide proof of vaccination for any required vaccines or obtain a medical or religious exemption from the University will result in rescission of a candidate’s offer of employment or disciplinary action up to and including termination.
