The position will be supported by a DOD-funded project investigating the role of ovarian cancer stromal microenvironment in cancer stemness and metastasis. The project will use a wide range of technologies, including genomics/epigenomics methods, CRISPR genome editing, primary and immortalized cell cultures, organoid culture, and in vivo mouse models. The ideal candidate will focus on molecular biology, in vitro 3D modeling of cancer, cancer stem cell biology, molecular biology, and mouse tumor models. The candidate will support new target selection and biomarker development. This is an exciting opportunity to apply cutting-edge methods and contribute to the development of novel target therapeutics in the nation’s largest medical school. Experience in bioinformatics is a plus. We value a culture of collaboration, teamwork, and mutual respect.

Candidates should have a PhD (or equivalent) degree in the area directly related to the field of research specialization. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in cancer biology and cancer signaling pathways using in vitro and/or in vivo model systems including a deep mechanistic understanding of how signaling crosstalk between cancer cells and its tumor-stromal microenvironment contributes to cancer development and cancer stem cell survival. The candidate is expected to independently design, execute, and analyze experiments, and present the results at various forums. We are particularly looking for individuals with demonstrated expertise in molecular and cellular biology, excellent writing and oral communication skills, a history of first-author publications in high quality scientific journals.
