Are you interested in processing, analyzing and distributing Strategic Weapon System Evaluation and Cybersecurity data and information?


Do you work well on teams and have an interest in improving processes, increasing efficiency and locating and mitigating vulnerabilities in support of the Nation’s Strategic military assets?

 

If so, we're looking for someone like you to join our team at APL.

 

As Weapon System and Cybersecurity Data Analyst, you will:

  • Support development of operational concepts and help lead a team to process data into analysis-ready (time-tagged, calibrated, transformed) formats for use by engineers at APL as well as by external Trident contractors and government organizations. (~20%)
  • Act as a system coordinator for Navy Trident II shipboard and telemetry data, and emerging Strategic military weapon systems. Support managing the receipt, processing flow, distribution, and archival of test data consistent with system data requirements, operational security, and test planning. Collaborate with analysts inside the Lab, as well as external Trident contractors and government organizations to ensure data distribution requirements are met. (~15-20%)

  • Investigate, evaluate, report and propose solutions to data quality problems associated with data recording from the instrumentation systems and recording devices. Evaluate proposed subsystem and interface instrumentation changes to assess impact. (~15-20%)

  • Evaluate and assess the Cybersecurity boundaries of the Nation’s Strategic military assets and provide feedback to mitigate future vulnerabilities. (~40-50%)


Qualifications

You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you...

  • Possess a BS degree in related technical discipline (math, engineering, physics, computer science), or a BS degree in another discipline and a combination of 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Have experience receiving and distributing data to sponsors and external organizations, executing data processing workflows, analyzing system data, and conducting data quality assessments/evaluations.
  • Have demonstrated strong, independent skills for investigating and resolving technical problems.
  • Have demonstrated superior verbal and writing skills.
  • Have excellent interpersonal, organizational & multi-tasking skills.
  • Hold an active Secret security clearance and can ultimately obtain Top Secret level security clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.

You'll go above and beyond our minimum requirements if you...

  • Possess an MS in related technical discipline (math, engineering, physics, computer science) or a BS degree in another discipline and a combination of 10+ years of relevant experience, as defined above.

  • Have experience with data investigations, vulnerability & supply chain assessments, attack chain analysis, threat vector enumeration, and incident response.

  • Have knowledge of security practices associated with handling classified materials.

  • Have project management experience (technical team or project).

  • Hold an active Top Secret security clearance.
