Essential Job Duties

The primary purpose of this position includes but is not limited to:
-Participate in all planning meetings for Medical Science course
-Advise the Medical Science teaching team on integration of technologies including Poll Everywhere, embedded timers, use of Canvas quizzing, etc.
-Create detailed to-do lists following planning meetings and implement planned technology solutions
-Starting in August, attend all Peer Accelerated Learning Sessions (PALS) as a part of the three-person teaching team
-Help manage transitions in class between different elements of the PALS sessions, supporting faculty to review and display quizzing results, use embedded timers, display audio visual elements, and troubleshoot technology challenges in the moment
-Keep track of timing during PALS sessions and support the teaching team to remain on-schedule for each session

Other Work/Responsibilities

Familiarity with Canvas, PollEverywhere, and PowerPoint will be critical for this position. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with these technologies and is comfortable supporting faculty to implement during class. In the absence of extensive experience with any one of these technologies, a quick learner who is confident in their ability to learn new classroom technologies and consult on them, quickly, will be of great support to our team.


Minimum Experience/Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited University

Candidates should be well skilled in the following areas:

High level of comfort with classroom technology and troubleshooting technology challenges is required. The individual in this role must be able to communicate effectively with faculty in the classroom setting. They must be detail-oriented and willing to ask questions in order to determine next steps. They must be a team player.
