Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

Communications Coordinator:Participating in the development of internal and external communications plans, campaigns, and projects. Designing, producing, distributing, coordinating, and maintaining print and electronic newsletters, brochures, flyers, social media, and similar collateral and promotional materials. Designing school promotional materials and merchandise and working with licensed vendors as required by campus.

Researching, gathering, and analyzing information and preparing reports in support of targeted communications and outreach efforts. Identifying and developing opportunities to promote the school and its programs, projects, news, events, and exhibitions. Photographing and video recording school events, including affiliated events, and providing faculty/staff headshots. Editing videos and creating montages of school projects and exhibitions. Supporting alumni-related event preparation through the AlumniQ event management and invitation platform.

Managing the school’s Drupal-based website and tracking the analytics. Serving as the main point of contact for web accessibility compliance and issues. Providing document remediation to comply with accessibility requirements. Developing graphic design content and some text for web pages. Providing daily review and improvement of the website as needed. Performing need analyses and content-specific updates for school;


Minimum Qualifications:

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Visual Communication Design or related field 
Experience:
  • One (1) year of experience in any job title in visual communications and/or graphic design.
  • Interdisciplinary academic settings. 
  • Experience with design, branding, photography, videography, creating flyers, brochures, reports, and associated items, using photo- and video-related software programs, including Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, After Effects, and Premiere Pro.

The job requires experience or coursework in each of the following:
  • Working with WordPress, Brackets Software, and experience working with HTML/CSS.
  • Working with vendors for print runs, layouts, and related materials and components of printing projects.
  • Published writing and/or brand journalism and working independently to manage/update websites.
