Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

The Director of Recruiting will work within a team leadership environment. The duties of this position include: coordinate the daily recruiting operational and logistical processes within the University of Maryland Football Program; plan and supervise the execution of a twelve month vision of the recruiting process; monitor permissible recruiting websites; create and update recruiting data and coordinate updates to the recruiting databases; in collaboration with Admissions and the Athletics Compliance Office coordinate the submission and filing of transcripts for selected prospects; serve as a liaison between all departments on recruiting matters; supervise the planning and coordination of official and unofficial visits to campus; monitor and work collaboratively with the staff to keep them updated on changes in the University, Big Ten Conference and NCAA rules; and other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:
Bachelor’s degree.

Experience:
A minimum of three years of successful experience in a NCAA Division I recruiting position or as an assistant coach at the CFP collegiate or professional level is required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
Proven integrity, leadership, and a thorough knowledge of college football and NCAA rules and regulations are required.

Physical Demands

The scope of the position requires weekend and evening work (non-standard work hours) as well as some travel. While performing the essential functions of the job, the employee operates a computer and other office devices such telephones, copy machines, fax machines, etc. Constantly moves about the facility and event site before, during and after events; frequently communicates via telephone, email and in-person with others to exchange accurate information. Standing, walking, kneeling/crouching, balancing and lifting up to 25 pounds.
