Summary of Position

This USDOE grant funded position is located in the College of Liberal Arts (COLA), Department of Education. The purpose of this role is to facilitate and oversee interdisciplinary activities between COLA Education Department and DHHS Social Work to launch the new UNH Mental Health in the Schools Graduate Program.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

Masters degree in education or social work; graduate certificate in Trauma Informed Policy and Practice (TIPP); experience with UNH systems, processes, and policies; experience using Qualtrics, Microsoft Word, canvas, TEAMS, ZOOM, Google Drive, social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram; ability to coordinate professional development; knowledge of equity based inclusive education, ableism, and DEIB initiatives; experience working with and advocating for under-represented populations; experience managing scholarship programs; supervisory experience; strong decision-making and negotiating skills; experience building support for new initiatives; experience with/knowledge of data collection methods and protocols; demonstrated ability to lead UNH coursework and professional development; and ability to ensure compliance with relevant laws, policies, and practices, and with grant requirements.

Duty/Responsibility

Teaching/Professional Development Oversight and Implementation
  • Lead process for curriculum and syllabi audit by DEI Consultant
  • Organize materials for CANVAS Seminar
  • Participate as Team Leader with Co-PIs to lead the seminar and support scholars
  • Organize and conduct the Administrator/Community Member Leadership Series in Trauma Informed Practices

Duty/Responsibility

Scholar (n-80) Recruitment and Support
  • Conduct outreach to potential scholars in underrepresented groups and high need schools
  • Manage scholar application process including: developing process protocols, screening for eligibility, making preliminary recommendations, responding to questions from potential scholars, and ensuring compliance with relevant policies and guidelines.
  • Communicate with scholars re: program progress
  • Ensure scholar information is current in federal database

Duty/Responsibility

Communication and Outreach
  • Conduct outreach to underrepresented groups and high need schools
  • Conduct outreach to school administrators and community members
  • Lead social media and dissemination efforts re: program launch and ongoing efforts which may include developing and posting content to supporting other team members.
  • Lead team developing outreach and dissemination materials
  • Facilitate communication among various UNH departments re: to launch of the new graduate program
  • Attend information sessions in high need school communities

Duty/Responsibility

Research and Data Collection
  • Conduct preliminary data collection and review
  • Maintain internal evaluation records and advise external Project Evaluator
  • Collaborate with Project Evaluator to ensure all records are accurate and up-to-date
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, policies, and practices, and with grant requirements

Duty/Responsibility

Supervision
  • Supervise 3-5 graduate assistants, teaching assistants, and hourly employees.
  • Establish and assess progress toward goals and objectives.
  • Provide coaching and professional development support.
  • Develop staffing plans to meet program needs within budget.
  • Serve as a member of hiring committees and engage in onboarding and training of new team members
