If so, we're looking for someone like you to join our team at APL.

 

We are seeking a Radar Systems Analyst to help us assess the capability of currently fielded radar systems, envision changes to make these systems more capable and robust, and support investigation of new sensor architectures. As a member of our team, you will contribute to both the Missile Defense Agency’s (MDA’s) and Navy’s state-of-the-art radar systems and have the opportunity to develop and investigate innovative signal processing, categorization, tracking, and discrimination algorithms.

As a Radar Systems Analyst you will:

  • operate and analyze data generated by high-fidelity radar simulations,
  • analyze live and simulated data to support performance assessment and requirements verification and development,
  • analyze and develop novel algorithms for fielded systems,
  • evaluate novel sensor architectures to support the initial development of new systems, and
  • evaluate radar system categorization, track, and discrimination performance.

Qualifications

You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you...

  • have a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related technical field,
  • 1+ years or more experience analyzing sensor systems or performing systems engineering,
  • experience or knowledge in signal and image processing, Fourier transform, or discrete Fourier transform,
  • familiarity with Matlab, Python, or related programming language,
  • strong problem solving and analytical skills,
  • Hold an Interim Secret with the ability to ulimately obtain a Secret security clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.

You'll go above and beyond our minimum requirements if you...

  • have a Masters or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related technical field and
  • have 5+ years of experience working with Navy, MDA, or other radar systems.
