Position overview Position title: Assistant or Associate Specialist
Salary range: The UC academic salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See the following table(s) for the current salary scale(s) for this position: https://www.ucop.edu/academic-personnel-programs/_files/2022-23/july-2022-salary-scales/t24-b.pdf . The current base salary range for this position is $56,600-$78,500. 'Off-scale' salaries, which yield compensation that is higher than the published system-wide salary at the designated rank and step, are offered when necessary to meet competitive conditions.

Anticipated start: Spring/Summer 2023
Position duration: One year, with possibility of an extension depending on performance and availability of funding.

Position description
The Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences top-ranked programs attract stellar students and professors from around the world, who pioneer the frontiers of information science and technology with broad impact on society. Underlying our success are a strong tradition of collaboration, close ties to industry, and a supportive culture. The UC Berkeley Robotic AI & Learning Lab (RAIL) research focus is to enable machines to exhibit flexible and adaptable behavior, acquired autonomously through learning. To that end, we work on learning algorithms, robotics, and computer vision. We are seeking a robotics Assistant/Associate Specialist, interested in contributing to engineering for research projects, robotics and machine learning infrastructure, and some technical support. This position would provide candidates with opportunities to participate in research, in collaboration with students and postdocs at RAIL.
