Job Description:
Madison College’s Athletic Department is currently recruiting for the position of Athletic Communications & Marketing Coordinator. We are seeking someone who is driven and ready to make a significant impact in supporting athletic communication functions, coordinating and promoting department and sport-specific special events and fulfilling responsibilities.
 
In this role you will be responsible for the compiling and distributing information pertaining to Madison College’s Athletic Department to various internal and external entities. Your knowledge will be vital in ensuring accurate and timely communication of relevant information. Additionally, this position will place a strong emphasis on marketing and promoting the athletic department to a wide range of sources, utilizing diverse resources to maximize visibility and engagement.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the design, development, maintenance, and support of the department’s web presence for athletics and recreation; all content on the Madison College website for athletics and recreation; the department’s website compliance; and the design, development, and delivery of content via the department’s social media platforms.
  • Promotion and marketing of department contests, events, tournaments, programs, and services.
  • Train all statistics & game management personnel for NJCAA events and tournaments. Responsible for the accumulation and documentation of all required NJCAA programmatic and statistical information. Responsible for all historical documentation, all award nominations, and national office information requests for the department.
  • Promote and coordinate games and special events. Assist with off-season game management functions.
  • Schedule and maintain livestream systems, video content production, and photography for the department. Responsible for the department’s brand identity and the corresponding branding standards
  • Assists intercollegiate coaches with recruitment by training and assisting staff with recruiting software and by marketing and promotion of programs to prospective student-athletes and their families.
 
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Skill in communicating effectively and professionally, both orally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated skill in communications and human relations with populations of diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds and persons with disabilities.
  • Marketing, public relations, and communication skills necessary to professionally promote the department through multiple mediums and to multiple entities while maintaining brand standards.
  • Technical expertise and knowledge of statistical sport software, website maintenance and design (specifically SIDEARM), graphic design and desktop publishing (using Adobe software), live streaming, photography, and social media channels
  • Organizational, management, and interpersonal skills necessary to organize, communicate, and execute events and promotions.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of varied intercollegiate sports and sports promotional techniques
  • Demonstrated skill in managing multiple tasks and timelines
 
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Two (2) years relevant working experience
