This is a remote, work-from-home position. We will consider applicants that reside in the following states: Arizona, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Maryland, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Utah.

Position Summary of the 
Accounting Adjunct Instructor:

We believe in liberating the innate greatness in people. The Accounting Instructor is responsible for planning and creating lectures, in-class discussions, and assignments as well as assessing grades for students based on participation, performance in class, assignments, and examinations. The Accounting Instructor will also report student learning outcomes, class reviews, and analyze student data.

The mission of the Instructor in the Education Department, regardless of the curriculum, is to provide the student(s), our customer(s), with the skills and knowledge necessary to obtain entry-level employment in the field of their chosen program of study. To accomplish this mission, all instructors will utilize their talents, skills, and abilities in a coordinated and consistent team effort under the guidance and supervision of the Executive Director of Education or their designee.

 


Responsibilities of the 
Accounting Adjunct Instructor:

  • Provide an educational experience where each student has the opportunity to fulfill their potential for intellectual and emotional growth.
  • Prepare and implement activities that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences.
  • Actively engage in individual, or small group, tutoring and remediation using synchronous and asynchronous tools.
  • Create and curate instructional content, including video, for students related to current trends and practices in the industry.
  • Integrate established, and emerging, teaching and learning strategies into the classroom and student interactions.
  • Conduct proactive and reactive student outreach regularly.
  • Provide individualized and timely feedback on student assessments within SOP guidelines.
  • Provide regular feedback to the Program Director on student progress or opportunities.
  • Participate in ongoing training, development, and program meetings.
  • Respond to student questions and needs on weekdays as well as weekends.
  • Other special projects, duties, and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements of the 
Accounting Adjunct Instructor:

  • Master’s degree required.
  • 4+ years field related experience in Finance, Accounting, Tax preparation, Bookkeeping or related field required.
  • Completion of 18 graduate level accounting credits required.
  • Previous experience with Quickbooks, taxes, financial and managerial accounting required.
  • Passion for education and the ability to thrive in an atmosphere of innovation and change.
  • Proven track record for being a dynamic communicator, coach, and facilitator with a focus on student-centered, adaptive development.
  • Strong presentation and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously in a collaborative environment.
  • Ability to work in a virtual environment using software technology including but not limited to virtual meeting tools, such as Zoom, Instant Messaging, Canvas Learning Management System (LMS).
  • The ability to efficiently operate a computer and its peripheral equipment (keyboard, mouse, etc.).
  • Ability to sit or stand for two to four hours.
  • Ability to participate in extensive paid training prior to the start of classes.
