Program Manager, Academic Pathways Planning and Faculty Advising
Highline College is committed to using the Guided Pathways approach to reduce equity gaps and improve student success. Faculty advising and academic planning plays a critical role in that process. Reporting to the Dean of Guided Pathways, the Program Manager for Academic Pathway Planning and Faculty Advising will manage administrative processes that serve the Academic Affairs division and Highline College. Working in a highly collaborative environment, this position collaborates with academic Deans and administrators to develop procedures and processes for updating the catalog, academic planning resources and curriculum maintenance.
The Program Manager, Academic Pathway Planning and Faculty Advising will support Academic Affairs' efforts to support strategies and practices that strengthen faculty advising within the context of implementing guided pathways, including helping students complete professional/technical degrees and certificates or transfer into baccalaureate programs ready to enter specific majors.
Reporting directly to the Dean of Guided Pathways, this position will:
Program Mapping/Academic Planning:
Coordinate with the Associate Director of Instructional Scheduling and Director of Workforce to ensure accurate maintenance of the catalog and other academic planning resources including, but not limited to, ctcLink, Academic Advisement Reports, Highline website;
- Create, update and ensure accurate program map and academic planning updates for all new, revised, and inactivated courses, certificates, and degrees by consulting with appropriate stakeholders;
- Assist Dean of Guided Pathways in establishing a process for systematic updates to program maps and academic planning templates;
- Troubleshoot, identify, and resolve problems and issues related to production of Academic Advisement Reports, program maps, and academic plan templates. Confer with administrators, information systems personnel, faculty, and other staff to develop solutions and recommendations;
- Monitor the approval process for new courses, programs, certificates and degrees with appropriate parties, including faculty, deans, and committees;
- Maintain all curricular documents for the Curriculum Committee within the Office of Academic Affairs;
- Maintain shared access to catalog procedures and information.
- Assist Director of Faculty Advising with accurate input of assignment of all eligible students to appropriate faculty advisors in a timely manner;
- Serve as a back-up responder to faculty/staff submitted Aviso alerts requesting assignment of faculty advisor;
- Support training of faculty and staff on faculty advising processes and practices;
- Support management of the Faculty Advising email responding to faculty, staff, and student inquiries regarding faculty advising;
- Support promotion of the shared responsibility for academic advising between the student and the advisor and work collaboratively with student services to increase awareness among students and faculty;
- Participate in campus-wide Advising efforts and collaborate to implement recommendations related to faculty advising assignments.
- Maintain up to date Academic Advising Reports in ctcLink for transfer and Prof-Tech programs;
- Maintain relevant information on the Academic Affairs and Degree Pathways website and on other campus web resources;
- Attend regularly scheduled meetings to remain informed, serve as a resource, and provide technical expertise to faculty, staff, and administrators;
- Assist with gathering, compiling and organizing data for various stakeholders.

Associates Degree or higher; AND
Two years of relevant experience.
Experience with compiling and processing data;
Experience or academic specialization in data collection and analysis, and/or program
Experience with website updates and maintenance;
Experience with student management systems (ex. PeopleSoft, ctcLink, Banner);
Experience working in a community college or a strong understanding of the community college system;
Experience with academic planning, advising or degree planning;
Intermediate to advanced skills in database, word processing, and spreadsheet management (Microsoft Office preferred).
