Position Summary

This position is under the direction of the Assistant Director/Chief Engineer and assists with supervising the day-to-day operations of all HVAC equipment.

Essential Functions

  • Supervises day to day operations and maintenance of all HVAC equipment.
  • Oversees assignment of work orders for all trades.
  • Oversees all NYC/DEP/DOB/COF requirements.
  • Supervises day to day operations of mechanics and trades personnel, including HVAC, plumbing, locksmith, electricians, and foreman.
  • Works with the Chief Engineer to develop and supervise the implementation of preventive and predictive maintenance schedules required for all related capital equipment, including but not limited to boilers, pumps, motors, cooling towers, pneumatic and BMS controls, DX units, heating, absorbers, chillers, etc.
  • Provides technical assistance and training of Facilities maintenance personnel, including but not limited to vetting and procuring all parts and consumables.
  • Coordinates with Facilities Operations, Capital Programs and Planning, and Campus Community to support University needs, including scheduling and coordinating projects with University departments.
  • Reviews and manages all Facilities related service work order requests.
  • Conducts quality control of all work and evaluates work performances.
  • Creates and maintains work schedules, attendance records, and payroll.
  • Maintains inspection and maintenance records for all FDNY/DEP/DOB requirements.
  • Provides progress reports to the Assistant Director/Chief Engineer.
  • Meets with the University community to review operational and service needs.
  • Promotes a safe and respectful work environment.
  • Performs other duties, as required, including on-call 24/7 for emergencies.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; or, in lieu of the degree, a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Four (4) years of professional experience in HVAC and Construction.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Successful candidates should have a knowledge of and commitment to the goals of Jesuit Education.

Minimum Starting Salary: $95,000

Maximum Starting Salary: $100,000

Note: Salary is commensurate with qualifications, experience, and skills.
