Job Summary

The Office of Advancement Services maintains an accurate database of alumni, friends and other stakeholders of Salt Lake Community College. The office is responsible for prospect research, prospect management and the recording and receipting of gifts. This is a day-time position with flexible hours between 8:00 am -4:30 pm, Monday-Friday. This position allows students an opportunity to develop “resume-building” data management skills, learn problem solving, work within a team environment, and develop organizational skills.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

  • Data entry input to update constituent records
  • General clerical responsibilities, filing and scanning
  • Index documents to cloud based storage
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be an SLCC Student
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • 20 hours per week worked in a minimum of 2 hour blocks

Preferred Qualifications

  • Typing speed of 65 wpm
  • Database experience

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to handle a number of different projects simultaneously while maintaining a consistent attention to detail
  • Student must be self-directed, have ability to learn administrative software programs (Banner, Etrieve, Sharepoint, Raisers Edge)
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office Excel
  • Communication skills – written and verbal
  • Maintain confidentiality of Salt Lake Community College records
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, ability, culture, and ethnic background, to maintain good working relationships across the College.
  • Ability to work with all groups in a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic background of community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities.

  • Constantly requires sitting, repetitious finger and wrist movement, speaking clearly
