Job Description:

SUNY Broome Community College is seeking candidates for a full-time, 10-month, tenure track appointment opening as Assistant Professor in the Psychology and Human Services department, available beginning in Fall 2023.� Ten (10) month salary is spread over twelve (12) months to allow for consistent, uninterrupted pay periods.� Generous benefits package includes, but is not limited to:� Medical, Dental, and optional Vision and Flexible Benefit Plan.

The successful candidate will preferably have teaching and/or clinical experience in the field of addiction and/or substance use disorder treatment and counseling.� The candidate must be willing to serve as the Coordinator of the Chemical Dependency Counseling program and certificate.� SUNY Broome's Chemical Dependency Counseling program is designed to prepare students as professionals in the field of alcohol and substance abuse treatment.�� The program is approved by the New York State Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS) and meets the standardized 350-hour education and training curriculum requirements necessary to apply for New York State Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC).

Primary responsibilities include but are not limited:

Candidates should be comfortable with technology and teaching in multiple modalities including face-to-face, online, and Hyflex.

The successful candidate should have experience placing, monitoring, and supervising interns.� Program coordination and familiarity with program assessment are preferred.

Familiarity with New York State Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS) standards is also preferred.

Candidates comfortable in a student-centered, diverse classroom with a strong commitment to the community college mission are encouraged to apply.


Requirements:

A Master's degree in an appropriate field is required.� �Additional graduate coursework in an appropriate field is desirable.

Three (3) years of teaching experience, or an appropriate combination of teaching, relevant work experience, and scholarly activity.


Additional Information:

The minimum salary for this position is $53,878.� Salary offer will be based on the candidate's qualifications and experience.

Offers of employment will be conditional based upon the results of a satisfactory, required pre-employment Standard Background Check.
