The American Heart Association has an excellent opportunity for a Community Health Coordinator within our Western States Region based in Seattle, Washington . This is a grant-supported, temporary, part-time position with an anticipated duration through August 2023 offering a schedule of 10 hours per week on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons.

This is a field based position that involves regular work performed primarily in Tukwila at a community program location.

Under broad supervision and in collaboration with other American Heart Association and community partner staff, coordinate and implement a grant funded project focused on nutrition security. This community-based role will primarily support the Summer Meals project, providing healthy, culturally relevant food options to families visiting the summer meals site. Candidate will also help in meal preparation, clean-up and provision. This position will also support project coordination efforts such as providing engagement activities and collecting feedback to individuals participating in on-site programs.

Qualifications

  • Experience and interest in public health, community health or equivalent.
  • Comfortable in a kitchen environment
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of staff and families.
  • Ability to work productively from a remote location.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with a variety of audiences.

Compensation & Benefits

Expected pay will be $20.00 per hour. Pay is commensurate with experience; geographic differentials to the pay range may apply.
