Job Title: Postdoctoral Scholar Research
Hiring Salary/Salary Range: $47,659 - $55,000 based on experience
ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:
The primary objective of the Wang lab is to unravel the intricate molecular mechanisms governing cell death pathways. Additionally, the lab aims to develop novel chemical compounds that can effectively treat diseases associated with cell death, such as cardiac injury, infections, inflammation, neurodegeneration, and cancer.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Dr. Wang's laboratory is actively seeking a post-doctoral candidate who is driven and self-motivated. We strongly encourage individuals with a PhD or equivalent advanced degree to apply. The ideal candidate should possess a strong publication record and demonstrate exceptional skills in the fields of molecular biology and biochemistry. While not mandatory, previous experience in cell culture, viruses, histology, or mouse models would be highly advantageous. Successful candidates will be expected to conduct independent research encompassing mechanistic and animal studies. They will also be responsible for analyzing experimental findings, preparing informative figures, and drafting manuscripts.
DUTIES:
TEACHING DUTIES (5%): Supervise and train new lab members
RESEARCH DUTIES (90%): Independently design research projects and independently perform experiments. Analyze research data/results and write research articles
ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES (5%): Assist the lab PI with lab safety and animal works
QUALIFICATIONS (Education & Experience):
Minimum Qualifications:
Doctoral degree from an accredited institution in molecular biology, biochemistry, or related field and appropriate experience and training within a selected area of specialization. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Postdoctoral Fellow.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience with cell culture, viruses, histology, or mouse models is highly preferred. Self-motivated individuals with a PhD or equivalent advanced degree are encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate must have a solid publication record and evidence of excellent skills in molecular biology and biochemistry.
