About the Opportunity
Job Description:
The Juner Zhu Research Group at Northeastern University is recruiting a Postdoctoral Research Associate to work on the safety-focused testing and modeling of lithium-ion batteries. The candidate is expected to perform battery failure tests at the meso- and macro-scales, develop coupled mechanical-thermal-chemical computational models for lithium-ion batteries, and apply the theories to solve real-world industrial problems such as non-destructive assessments and early battery failure detection. The candidate will lead an industry-sponsored project on battery safety and work on other scientific research topics such as electro-chemo-mechanical theories sponsored by federal agencies. The candidate will also be responsible for writing technical papers, research proposals, and project reports as well as supervising graduate students.
Minimum Qualifications:
Have a PhD or equivalent degree by the starting date
Trained in mechanical engineering or chemical engineering
Experienced in battery material characterization and battery testing
