Academic Areas Coordinator

Job Description

ACADEMIC AREAS COORDINATOR, Sloan School of Management-Behavioral and Policy Sciences, to provide a high-level of organizational and administrative management to an academic group.  Will partner with the senior associate director in supervising a team of support staff responsible for the delivery of a dynamic portfolio of services to the academic area community, which includes faculty and other academic staff; provide guidance to staff in their learning and development; partner with the senior associate directors to coordinate the development and implementation of school objectives in the academic areas and represent the academic areas to other Sloan and Institute department; and manage, evaluate, and communicate clearly the various workflows within the academic areas in order to maintain alignment and consistency in business practices.

Job Requirements:
REQUIRED:  bachelor’s degree; at least two years’ administrative, office, or related experience; thorough understanding of own work and how it impacts operations across the area and outside own work unit; advanced-level computer software skills and ability to identify and learn new programs and software and easily negotiate the internet and perform complex searches; excellent organizational, interpersonal, presentation, and oral and written communication skills; self-motivation;  and discretion and good judgment with confidential information/issues.  Must be able to establish effective working relationships with colleagues, multitask, recognize the needs of the unit and how it impacts other areas of MIT/Sloan, and work both independently and as part of cross-disciplinary teams in in a pressured work environment.  Job #22753-7
