Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

This position is with the Applied Research Laboratory for Intelligence & Security (ARLIS) – a University Affiliated Research Center (UARC) under the UMD Vice President of Research (VPR). ARLIS seeks to hire a supply chain analyst to support the Acquisition and Industrial Security (A&IS) Mission Area. We seek talented professionals who can work with a team to support the research, construction, implementation, test, documentation, and maintenance of socio-technical solutions that provide highly impactful capabilities for the special operations and intelligence community. Specifically, much of our work focuses on policy and implementation relating to manufacturing, data and knowledge engineering, model-based systems engineering, digital supply chains, and library science.

The responsibilities of this position may include:
  • Conducting data analyses and literature research to support project development and execution
  • Building and maintaining modeling and computational tools
  • Developing written reports and briefing materials for stakeholders and customers

Minimum Qualifications:

Required Experience:
  • Experience using SQL to extract, clean, and transform data in large, complex, nested databases.
  • Experience using programming languages, such as Python or R, in a cloud platform.
  • Experience doing research, analysis, data science, or solution development.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to extract actionable insights from data
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong intellectual curiosity.

Conditions of Employment:
Must be able to obtain a U.S. security clearance. If selected, you must meet the requirements for access to classified information and will be subject to a government security clearance investigation that includes criminal and credit history checks, as well as verification of U.S. citizenship, birth, education, employment, and military history.

Preferences:

Preferences:
  • Practical experience in the aerospace or naval industry.
  • 0-3 years of experience in at least one area of supply chain operations, such as constraints, risk management, sales and production planning, material planning, or logistics.
  • Experience developing and delivering projects in Microsoft Azure.
  • Active security clearance.
