Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

This is a Contingent I (CI) contractual position. The primary purpose of this position is to support the Facilities Library Manager in producing electronic scans of the construction drawings in the Facilities Library. This position is directly responsible for gathering documents from the archival inventory, scanning the documents using a large format scanner, indexing and uploading the scans to an existing database using an archival application.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:
High School Diploma or GED.

Experience:
One year in clerical work.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
  • Working knowledge of office practices, procedures, and equipment; of grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Skill in filing documents according to alphabetic and numeric sequences; in operating manual and automated office equipment; in performing routine clerical tasks.
  • Ability to independently perform specialized clerical tasks; to understand and apply departmental policies and procedures; to communicate effectively; to follow oral and written instructions; to maintain effective work relationships; to perform arithmetic computations.

Preferences:

Preferences:
  • Experience scanning and processing mass quantity large-scale drawings and utilizing scanning software.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Bridge.
  • Knowledge of construction documents and their expected content.
  • Ability to use a PC computer; knowledge of MS Excel and Word.
  • Excellent organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work as a team and independently.

Additional Information:

  • This is a contractual Contingent I (CI) full-time (40 hours per week) hourly paid position.
  • This position does not provide sponsorship for visas.

Physical Demands

The nature of the position requires lifting of sets of construction documents for processing in the Facilities Library. Weight of documents vary; maximum weight of 15 lbs. Standing for lengthy periods of time. This position is not Telework eligible.
