Position Summary
The ARCHES (Applied Research for Clinical Human Factors, Engineering, and Safety) Lab at the University of Nebraska Medical Center’s Department of Neurological Sciences is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate. The Postdoctoral Research Associate will conduct research on healthcare deliveryincluding measuring real-world human behavior to inform human-centered design decisions for health care delivery. The Postdoctoral Research Associate will contribute to developing new research questions and data analyses, as well as new research ideas and funding proposals. The Postdoctoral Research Associate will have a background in engineering, psychology or human behavioral research in arelevant field. Relevant fields include (but are not limited to) the Behavioral Sciences (Psychology, Neuroscience, and Human Factors), Computer Science, and Engineering. The Postdoctoral Research Associate should have strong data analytic and research skills. This is an excellent opportunity to translate and expand skillsets to novel, naturalistic datasets and clinical translational research, in addition to building a CV with presentations and publications.
The Post-Doctoral Research Associate will:
· Identify, intellectually develop, and implement research questions and data analyses, in collaboration with Dr. Bethany Lowndes and the ARCHES research team.
· Use statistical or other analytic approaches to provide answers to research questions.
· Apply research results to develop new clinical translational research programs.
· Share research findings through conference presentations and publications. ARCHES (Applied Research for Clinical Human Factors, Engineering, and Safety) Lab applies principles of systems engineering and human behavior to study and design workload, workflow, and usability in occupational health and safety for both healthcare and agriculture. Through quantitative and qualitative methods, the ARCHES lab members pursue research to improve health and safety in the hospital, clinic, telehealth encounters, agricultural workplace, and patient homes. We use the results of our research to inform patient and clinician education, clinical care. The ARCHES research team designs interventions to improve patient outcomes, policy, and technology development. Our goal is to improve health, safety, and quality of life in individuals of all ages.

Required Qualifications
• A PhD by time of hiring in a relevant field. Relevant fields include (but are not
limited to) the Behavioral Sciences (Psychology, Cognitive Science, Neuroscience,
and Human Factors), Computer Science, and Engineering.
• Experience in statistical modeling.
• Ability to program (Python and R are preferred).
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills and ability to self-direct work.
• Ability to work as a team member.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Supplemental Qualifications
• Experience analyzing data from human behavioral experimentation.
• History of academic publications and conference presentations.
