The Postdoctoral Researcher, will work under the supervision of Dr. Maddock developing and processing evaluation of funded studies. Performs the research required by the faculty to a high standard and in accordance with all institutional and federal regulations

Required Education:

  • Appropriate PHD

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.

  • Ability to analyze data using standard statistical software

Preferred Education:

  • Doctorate in public health, social sciences, or environmental sciences

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience working in health & nature

  • Experience publishing peer reviewed journal articles

  • Experience working in virtual reality

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Expertise in health behavior interventions

Responsibilities

  • Research Data: Assists in intervention development and process evaluation of funded studies; establish data collection system and oversees data collection activities, including programming forms and cleaning data. Conducts quantitative and qualitative data analysis; analyze and interpret data using accepted statistical methods. Acquires, loads, and merges data from various sources to produce reports and data dashboard; prepare datasets for sharing with other investigators and with the public; present research findings at national and local meetings. Assists with the design of the statistical plan, including power and sample size calculations, for funding proposals for a variety of study designs (e.g., randomized controlled trials, community-randomized trials, and longitudinal cohorts).

  • Writing papers, research materials and grants: Contributes to writing peer review manuscripts, reports, and conference presentations, including written descriptions of methods and summarizing results in text, tabular, and graphic form. Prepares, coordinates, and submits IRB human subjects research protocols. Develops and writes grant proposals to funding agencies. Oversees study design, participant recruitment, and analysis of studies in the Virtual Reality Laboratory. Performs other duties as assigned.
