Essential Job Duties
Job responsibilities of the Supply Chain Optimization Specialist position include but are not limited to the following:
- Gain an understanding about clients current and future business system needs.
- Provide direct technical assistance to these clients.
- Effectively present in both informal and formal learning settings.
- Participate and/or lead face-to-face and or virtual engagements.
- Provide coaching on Supply Chain Services and multiple paths to achieve goals.
- Ability to provide leadership in project scoping, onsite data collection, and referral of one or more products in departmental service line offerings at Industry Expansion Solutions.
- Achieve support for the client through on-site visits, networking presentations, marketing materials, and educational programs.
- Work with the data management team to administer an evaluation system that measures the impact of IES/NCMEP programs to the clients and the state. May require supporting the survey process, and production of reports on program impact.
- Assist with outlining the scope of work for proposals, entering in the project information into our Client Resource Management system, submitting travel expenses, scheduling, business reports.
- Position is required to travel, attend meetings with clients, IES supervisor, and the Executive Director of IES.
Other Responsibilities
This position typically provides front line day to day contact with IES’s clients and partners by interacting and providing IES services in both public and on-site locations. This position will also provide support so that IES may reach its stated short term and long term goals. This specialist role and time of contract shall be designated under the University’s guidelines for EPA Professional employment.
Minimum Education and Experience
- Require post-baccalaureate credentials or a bachelor’s degree plus alternative or equivalent professional training and experience may be substituted for the advanced degree on an exceptional basis.
Other Required Qualifications
- Ability to implement a project management plan for all supplier scouting requests.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing, supply chain management, planning and procurement.
- Excellent listening, writing, quantitative and oral communication skills.
- Proficient in Salesforce, Google suite, Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Broad knowledge of business strategy, process improvement, supply chain technologies.
- Must be creative, self-motivated, and be able to effectively pioneer initiatives.
- Commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.
- Experience in project management leadership.
- Possess a high level of interpersonal skills necessary to work cooperatively with a wide variety of constituents.
- The ability to resolve issues while maintaining good working relationships with partners, clients and internal employees.
- Should be self-directed and have excellent time management skills.
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable as needs expand/contract/change based on funding and program changes.
Preferred Qualifications
- A Bachelor of Science or Master’s degree in the appropriate discipline and at least 5 years of experience preferred.
Required License(s) or Certification(s)
- Ability to obtain a NC Driver’s License within the first 60 days of starting.
