Postdoctoral Research Fellow
Job Description
The Center of Remote Sensing & GIS at Korea Polar Research Institute (KOPRI) in South Korea is seeking applicants for a post-doctoral researcher, with a focus on the cryosphere, such as sea ice, glaciers, ice shelves, and ice sheets. The successful candidate will be responsible for observing the cryosphere using a range of remote sensing techniques, including optical satellites, synthetic aperture radar (SAR), passive microwave, and/or laser/radar altimeters. They will also be expected to process and analyze spatio-temporal variations in the cryosphere using programming tools usch as Python, Google Earth Engine (GEE), and machine learning if possible. Additionally, the candidate will collaborate with team members and other divisions to pursue their own research interests.

- This position can be funded up to three (5) years with health insurance covered as a benefit.
- Starting date is flexible.
- Salary is set based on the KOPRI payment standards; severance pay available (if employed for one year or longer).
