The Part-time Reference Librarian works in the Reference and Circulation departments of the Library, otherwise known as Access Services, to assist students, faculty, and the public with the use of information resources for instructional research. This position requires Sunday evenings, one weeknight per week, and being on call as needed.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree
Minimum of one year working in a library or related setting
Experience with personal computers, photocopiers/scanners, library information systems, overhead projectors and audio/visual equipment
Customer-service oriented
Self-directed

Essential Functions
Provides reference assistance to library patrons in using books, journals, and other printed resources in the collection
Assist patrons with accessing databases, e-books, and e-magazines
Assists with online public access catalog (OPAC) for book holdings information
Circulation desk assistance

Physical Demands
Frequently moves books or paperwork weighing up to 25 pounds
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
