What You Will Do:

  • Lead efforts in maintaining and developing computing infrastructure for the group as related to structure determination of biological molecules and biomolecular complexes.
  • Lead projects involving new and hardware/software integration using Experimental Physics and Industrial Control Systems (EPICS ) and Beamline Control Software (BOS ) for advanced features of the beamlines.
  • Help oversee management of the Linux operating systems for beamline control, and staff and user accounts.
  • Develop software services for the integration of data collection, data processing, and data archiving collection systems.
  • Develop the server side of the beamline control system utilizing deep knowledge of programming and control systems.
  • Develop expert systems for optimizing data collection and processing including high throughput operations.
  • Identify beamline control, data management issues, and recommend the implementation of solutions.
