School/College/Division Description
The Student Success Center connects UW-Milwaukee students to peers, faculty, staff and resources throughout our campus community to support the personal and academic success of each student. We provide students a variety of academic and support services to empower them to achieve and succeed.

Job Summary
The First-Year Specialist oversees the first-year student success initiatives. This position also facilitates one-on-one and small-group academic skills workshops and coaching for students who are struggling academically, have been placed on academic probation, or are looking to improve their academic performance. The First-Year Specialist will support student success through the collaborative creation of new initiatives that meet the changing needs of UWM students.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree in Student Affairs in Higher Education, or another closely related field
Demonstrated experience providing academic support to students
Experience supervising or advising student staff members
Demonstrated ability to manage projects and/or programs in a higher education setting

Target Salary Range
$40,200 - $48,000
