The Education and Integrative Initiatives team within the SDSS Dean’s Office focuses on the management of degrees, student policies, and student well-being, the development of new degrees, curricula, partnerships and initiatives, and the development and delivery of non-degree educational programming (professional development, career services, community outreach, research internships, etc.).

The Education and Integrative Initiatives team is seeking a Student Services Officer to administer the Doerr School’s new graduate certificate programs, course scheduling, and maintain informational resources for students and postdocs. Reporting to the Assistant Dean for Student and Postdoctoral Affairs, this position will work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment, providing student services support to a broad range of students and programming. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a dynamic, exciting, and student focused environment.

Your Responsibilities will include:  

?      Oversee and administer graduate certificate programs, including publicizing the certificate programs, advising students, tracking progress, and reviewing exception requests.

?      Triage inquiries from prospective students, providing information and/or referring on to the appropriate office.

?      Participate in the planning and execution of student-focused events and opportunities, such as Commencement, new student orientation, etc.

?      Manage course scheduling and maintain information in the University bulletin.

?      Provide advice to students on a range of issues, including, but not limited to, academic progress, academic program policies, career plans, accessibility, community standards, etc., to guide them in making appropriate choices and decisions.

?      Develop recommendations and collaborate with staff and faculty to resolve programmatic issues within the school and across functional units.

?      Collect and analyze data from multiple sources including student feedback, surveys, and data analytics. Prepare and summarize reports and make recommendations to enhance offerings, such as programs and courses and to influence current processes and policies.

?      Develop, analyze, influence and review, policies, processes, and programs by incorporating feedback and trend data learned from first-line interactions with students. Advise manager and team on policy updates and provide recommendations for implementation of changes.

?      May develop marketing materials and strategies for program activities and outreach functions.

?      Identify trends, perform needs analysis, and participate in the implementation and testing of new technology.

?      May train and supervise student workers.

To be successful in this position, you will need: 

?      Bachelor’s degree and two years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.

?      Strong written and verbal communication skills.

?      Basic computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite.

?      Basic analysis and problem solving skills.

?      Customer service skills.

?      Relevant computer systems/technology experience.

?      Understanding of financial transactions.

?      Ability to learn and understand compliance with legal, financial, and university policies and external regulations.

The expected pay range for this position is $64,480 to $82,000 per annum. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
