Brief Description of PSU/School/Dept
The School of Business is AACSB-accredited, has a strong commitment to both research and teaching, and serves over 3,400 students. Position Summary
The School of Business at Portland State University seeks candidates for a full-time, non-tenure track position to teach 36 credit hours of accounting courses across three quarters per the 9-month academic year. A limited amount of service activities to either the University, School of Business or Accounting area, as well as engagement with the business community is expected.

Requirements for the position include:
(1) a Master’s degree in Accounting or related field,
(2) recent experience teaching relevant business courses,
(3) evidence of high-quality teaching, and
(4) an interest in teaching in both traditional in person as well as online modes.
Experience teaching relevant upper division business courses and professional accounting certification is preferred.

In addition, the School seeks candidates whose experience has prepared them to contribute to our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in higher education. The position is a 9-month contract (September to June) and starts on 9/16/23. There may be the option to teach summer classes out of load if demand exists. Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Accounting or related field.
  • Recent experience teaching relevant business courses.

Total Compensation Range & Benefits Statement
alary is dependent on several factors, and new employees will typically start around the Q1 level to allow for later growth within the salary band. PSU has a structured process for determining starting compensation, taking into account years of related experience, applicable skills, knowledge and abilities, market parity, and internal equity. The starting annual salary for this position will be $50,265 – $83,061 but may be negotiated above this rate dependent upon the factors above, the budget of the hiring department, and approval from HR.
