Research Coordinator I
We are looking to hire an individual to participate in challenging and interesting work in smoking cessation using advanced technology (i.e., augmented reality via smartphone). This NIH-funded project focuses on an innovative adjuvant to smoking cessation treatments. People seeking to quit smoking through the Florida Quitline will be referred for an additional cessation tool. Participants will use an augmented reality smartphone application to help reduce urges to smoke.
Position Highlights:
- Works independently under general supervision of the designated PI and research team to coordinate the activities of assigned research protocols

- Background in research, especially social or behavioral science related field
- Strong attention to detail while scheduling participants and managing data
Responsibilities:
- Identifies, recruits and consents people seeking to quit smoking who are referred through the Florida Quitline
- Provides coaching on the use of an augmented reality app for smoking cessation
- Monitors and tracks recruitment and enrollment numbers
- Monitors data collection and compliance
- Ensures adherence to study timelines
- Coordinates administrative tasks for the investigator including deviations and preparation of IRB documents to send to the regulatory specialist
Credentials and Qualifications:
- Associate degree required with 2 years of relevant experience OR Bachelor’s degree in relevant field is required
- Must have good organization and communication skills
- Must work well under pressure of meeting mandatory deadlines
