Looking for an outgoing individual that can fit into many environments and wear many hats! In this position, you will work directly with the Director of Adult Education to provide quality programs and curriculum, You will need to be intrinsically motivated to learn all aspects of Adult Education so that you can help us grow the program. You will also work to coordinate efforts with our Student Navigator and Transition Specialist with other college services.
Position Summary
Coordinate, develop, implement and monitor all phases of programs related to curriculum, Adult Education faculty development and instruction.

Director of Adult EducationEssential Functions and Responsibilities
· Instruction
? Assist in the facilitation of new instructor orientations and faculty development workshops
? Oversee daily activities of site liaisons and instructors
? Support team teaching and supplemental instruction-Working with ICAPS teachers
· Planning and operation
? Assist with planning annual course calendar
? Assist with scheduling classrooms and placing instructors
? Arrange and coordinate the use of off-site locations
? Assist in coordinating staff development activities and teachers’ meetings
? Coordinate instructional activities – including coordination of bridge and ICAPS
? Assist in selecting off-campus locations and coordinating off-site classes
? Assist with coordination of special events and marketing
· Curriculum
? Recommend revisions to curriculum
? Recommend course materials to the Director of Adult Education
? Support teachers with the implementation of curriculum revisions
? Coordinate instructor training to support implementation of new curriculum in ESL, ABE, ASE, ASF, as well as bridge and ICAPS programs
? Assist in connecting adult education curriculum to college curriculum
· Reporting/communicating
? Ensure accurate and timely submission of records and reports from teachers
? Assist Director of Adult Education with grant proposals and reports
? Prepare and distribute information for instructors
? Act as communication link between the College, off-site locations, the department, other departments at MCC, instructors, and the community
? Coordinate and distribute information pertaining to teaching excellence
? Work closely with and maintain strong communications links with Coordinator of AVL (especially regarding scheduling tasks)
? Work closely with the Adult Education Navigator(working with HSE) and Transition Specialist (working with Bridge and ICAPS programs)
? Work closely with MCC departments to track I-CAPS students’ success in the chosen ICAPS program
? Monitor and track the I-CAPS students’ classes, certificates and degree completions and report to external agencies, MCC departments and ICCB
? Provide the Director of Adult Education I-CAPS students’ information
· Other
o Provide daily direction to instructors
o Work collaboratively with others (e.g. colleagues, stakeholders, vendors) to accomplish functions and responsibilities
o Assume additional duties as assigned by immediate supervisor
Required Education
Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institutionOther Required Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution – TESOL, Linguistics, Adult Education or related area
· Experience in curriculum writing and evaluation
· Experience with instruction of ESL, ABE, or GED
Desired Qualifications
· Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution – TESOL, Linguistics, Adult Education or related area
· Experience in grant writing and grant administration
· Bilingual

· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, internet and knowledge of educational technology
