Job Description

Francis Marion University and the School of Business invite applications for a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor of Management. Interested candidates should have teaching and research interests in Strategic Management and a desire to promote student engagement through active learning. In addition to undergraduate and graduate strategy courses, the ideal candidate will also be able to teach other management courses such Principles of Management. A teaching interest in Human Resource Management is preferred as this person will help support Management Majors.

The expectations of the successful candidate would include the following:

  • Teach six courses during the academic year, predominantly in person,
  • Maintain status as “scholarly academic” as per AACSB guidelines,
  • Engage in service to the School of Business and the University,
  • Participate in assessment of learning activities and program/curriculum development,
  • Mentor and advise students.

Preference will be given to candidates with a demonstrated capacity for effective teaching and the ability to engage in scholarly research leading to publication in refereed journals. Francis Marion University is AACSB accredited at the undergraduate and MBA levels. Earned doctorate in Management from an AACSB institution preferred, ABD with completion imminent will be considered.
