Description

: 

The Department of Health Policy & Behavioral Sciences at the School of Public Health at Georgia State University is seeking a post-doctoral scholar to conduct research on the intersection of policy, law, ethics, and data sharing. This postdoc will join Prof. Jalayne Arias’ research team, whose interdisciplinary work focuses on policy, ethical, and legal issues related to Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, aging, and neuroscience.
This post-doc will have between 2 – 4 years of funding provided by an NIH R01 Award to engage in the following activities:
•  Conduct original, interdisciplinary research at the cutting edge of health policy, ethics, neuroethics, law, and public health.
•  Assist with the development of novel instruments for interrogating current data-sharing practices.
•  Perform a policy analysis relevant to data sharing following the NIH Data Management and Sharing Policy (2023).
•  Perform data analysis in collaboration with multidisciplinary, ?eld-leading collaborators and co-investigators.
•  Contribute to data dissemination through authoring/co-authoring publications reporting ?ndings of the study and presentation at scienti?c conferences.

Required quali?cations:
•  A doctoral degree in a related ?eld, including law, policy, health policy, public 
health, neuroscience, or others that are relevant to the topic completed by Summer 2023
•  Experience communicating research results through publications or scienti?c presentations
•  Ability to communicate e?ectively orally and in writing
•  Project management skills

Preferred Hiring Qualifications: 

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience conducting research relevant to data sharing, genetics/biomarkers, and/or scientific policy.
• Basic understanding of dementia, aging research, Alzheimer’s disease, and Alzheimer’s disease-related dementias.
• Interest in law, policy, and ethics.
• Ability to work in person 2-3 days per week preferred, but will consider remote status.
