Job Description


The Coordinating Council for Women In History (CCWH) annually offers 1 fellowship to a nontraditional scholar who contributes to women in history, either through scholarly or professional activity. Catherine Prelinger is a former CCWH president and nontraditional scholar. The CCWH is a non-profit organization that strives to support women's history and women historians.


Eligibility & Requirements

Must be a member of CCWH and must hold either all but dissertation (ABD) status or the PhD at time of application. The program is for a contemporary scholar whose academic path has not followed the traditional path of uninterrupted study. Although the recipient’s degrees do not have to be in history, the recipient’s work should clearly be historical in nature. Must describe a project that will further enhance women’s roles in history. CV. Personal statement. The project statement. A statement which grants or denies the CCWH permission to add the application to the official CCWH archives at the Schlesinger Library. For ABD: a writing sample. 2 letters of recommendations.

Working on Doctoral Dissertation. Postdoctoral Scholar.

Social Sciences. Open primarily to history, but may be in a related field.
