Organization Profile: The Andromeda Community Initiative (ACI), a nonprofit entity providing professional development opportunities, free education/workforce programs, and hands on/certification training to prepare students for gainful employment in the construction and building restoration industry, is seeking a Vocational Coordinator. Building restoration, a $1.5 billion subset of the construction industry, employs approximately 20,000 individuals every day. ACI provides quality training and workforce development programming imparted by subject matter experts, bridging the gap between companies in need of qualified workers and individuals seeking quality, career ladder employment.

Position: ACI is seeking a Vocational Coordinator (VC) to aide in the day to day function of its training, provide outcome tracking, support job development and job retention and to provide overall administrative program support.

Responsibilities: Reporting to the Director of Business Development, the VC will assist in the following duties:

  • Client outreach and follow up through telephone and in-person contact;
  • Client intake and attendance tracking and reporting,
  • Client screening, preparation of documents and records (for tracking and billing purposes);
  • Resume development;
  • Database maintenance/data entry;
  • Outcome tracking and employment verification,
  • Employer outreach for job placement and client job retention support.
  • Program recruitment;
  • Additional duties based on program needs

Qualifications:

  • At least one year of Workforce Development experience or similar relevant social service background;
  • Social Service experience;
  • Basic computer skills;
  • Personal life experience overcoming criminal justice reentry, homelessness, or other barriers to employment preferred;
  • Experience participating in and/or supporting vocational programming
  • Willingness to adjust scheduling in particular weeks (with adequate notice) to meet goals of program and engage in weekend and evening calling to reach participants.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $47,000.00 per year
