About the Opportunity

The CGI University Deputy Director, Partnerships and Engagement reports to the CGI U Director of External Affairs and is responsible for CGI U's approach to community engagement and partnership development, with the goal of positioning CGI U as a critical program within the higher education entrepreneurship ecosystem. This role works closely with staff to build, manage, and grow relationships with cross-sector stakeholders whose philanthropic priorities are consistent with CGI U's mission and who enhance the year-round CGI U program through resources and opportunities that help CGI U students and alumni to expand their social impact work. The Deputy Director, Partnerships and Engagement also works collaboratively across the CGI U team to identify storytelling opportunities, develop branded collateral, and ensure a diverse, equitable, and inclusive year-round program.

Core Responsibilities

Lead the Strategy for CGI U Community Engagement

  • Design, execute, and lead the Strategic Vision of Community Engagement for CGI University
  • Develop, launch, and manage the Inaugural CGI U Alumni Advisory Board which will lead a yearly Alumni information-gathering campaign, ensuring CGI U and the broader Foundation have access to the most up-to-date information regarding the employment status of Alum as well as progress on their Commitments to Action (CTAs)
  • Expand CGI U's profile, visibility, and Net Promoter Score via marketing, speaking engagements, outreach opportunities for CGI U brand amplification; and
  • Provide content and speaker recommendations for future CGI U Programming
  • Increase fundraising opportunities for both CGI U as an organization and CGI U students and alumni, with a focus on recruiting and retaining long-term, mission-driven partner organizations and a willingness to make introductions to potential partners on CGI U's behalf.
  • Work in relationship with CGI U Leadership Team, focused on partnership creation and management, stakeholder engagement, and any related project-based employees, establishing in-depth, efficient, and effective systems of accountability and oversight.
  • Prepare metrics to support CGI U CEO and Director of External Affairs in partnership renewal discussions with key sponsors.

CGI U Marketing and Communications: Community Engagement, Outreach, and Admissions

  • Work across the CGI U team to ensure consistency in CGI U language, marketing, and assets, ensuring that all external facing language and photos are on-message.
  • Collaborate with the CGI U Leadership Team, Outreach Manager, and Admissions Manager to develop the strategy and design of the CGI U Student Application and Outreach period.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Communication teams to develop recruitment materials, branded collateral, and key CGI U messaging to reach new and existing audiences.
  • Use data analytics, organizes feedback loops, and prepares in-depth reports to help define strategic priorities and promote diversity, equity, and inclusion across CGI U's recruitment pipeline and programming.

Strategic Partnership Management

  • Work with CGI U and Clinton Foundation staff to develop and execute partnership strategy and programming for fundraising and pipeline opportunities, leveraging the CGI U Alumni Board and existing partnerships.
  • Serve as the lead account manager for primary CGI U sponsors as well as additional programmatic partner organizations. Ensures overall program deliverables and timelines are met across numerous project plans, managing multiple senior internal and external stakeholders through complex consensus-building, as well as clear, frequent, and collaborative communication.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for partner requests and engagement with the principal team, as well as all other Clinton Foundation initiatives.
  • Collaborate with CGI U Leadership Team to compile sponsor impact reports and to strategize and revise content for sponsor grant proposals.
  • Manage selection and onboarding processes for partner programming, helping to inform best practices for broader CGI U enrollment strategy.
  • Manage planning, stakeholder engagement, and execution for all sponsor events, both virtual and in-person. Collaborates with the Marketing and Communication teams to develop and/or amplify partner content for digital communication channels. Content to share includes: special application promotions, event-related materials, and other opportunities from partner organizations and affiliates.
  • Design, disseminate, and analyze evaluations for partner programs and events in collaboration with the CGI U and Development teams.

Special Projects

  • Assists the CGI U Leadership Team with internal staff recruitment, onboarding, and training processes, as requested.
  • Strategizes with FTE employees to develop equitable relationships with higher education institutions and youth organizations, in particular Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs), in an effort to recruit a diverse and global cohort of students, including: guiding prospective students through applications; coordinating and hosting information sessions at partner and target schools; recruiting schools to join the University Network; executing broader communications strategies to promote applications.
  • Design and implement initiatives to engage an alumni network of more than 13,000 individuals through communications, events, and pipeline opportunities.
  • Collaborates with the CGI U and Development teams to identify opportunities where prospective partners can enhance CGI U year-round programming, and to align prospective partner goals and strategic plans with those opportunities.
  • Provides strategic, operational and administrative support to the CGI U and Development teams, as requested, with an overarching goal of integrating DEI principles and best practices within donor development and engagement.

Minimum Qualifications

What we're looking for:

  • Bachelors' degree or equivalent experience
  • Preferred: Advanced degree. CFRE or other specialized certification/designation is beneficial
  • At least 8 years of professional experience in the field in positions of increasing responsibility. At least 3-4 of those years must have included either managing people or managing projects to completion.
  • Preferred: Experience working in event planning and/or on programs related to civic engagement, higher education, social impact, social entrepreneurship, and diversity, equity and inclusion will be favorably viewed.
  • Experience fundraising and working in the philanthropic sector is preferred but not required.
  • Specialized Knowledge and Skills Needed for Performance of Job:
  • Demonstrated success in donor management. Portfolio management experience, as well as comfort in developing and implementing DEI strategy, beneficial.
  • Proficient with Blackbaud CRM systems, MSOffice Suite, and Internet required.
  • Knowledge of relevant analytical tools and wealth screening beneficial.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally, and work on multiple time zones, as necessary.

 

Compensation & Benefits

Our best estimate of the compensation range for this opportunity is $97K - 102K annually, depending on the experience you bring. This role is exempt for overtime pay. This range is based on NYC market rates and may be adjusted if you will be working remotely.
