The School of Pharmacy is looking for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to serve as a member of the Pharmaceutical Sciences team. We desire an individual who subscribes to and supports our commitment as stated above. What you need to know

Salary: Compensation will be commensurate to selected hire’s experience.

Required Education:

  • Appropriate PhD

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others

  • Expertise in basic lab techniques including flow cytometry, Western blot and real-time PCR

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • PhD in biology or Cancer biology

  • Experience in full-time research or scholarship, not enrolled in a formal academic program, but working under the mentorship of a senior scholar in preparation for an academic and/or research career

  • Prior experience with cancer biology and molecular biology techniques

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge in pharmaceutical characterization and evaluations, grant and manuscript writing and strong analytical skills.

  • Expertise in molecular biology, biochemistry, mammalian cell culture and rat/mouse in vivo protocols.


Responsibilities:

Research

  • Perform preclinical cancer research and assist in special research projects

  • Preparation of laboratory for experiments including preparation of products and cleaning work areas

  • Conduct invitro and invivo work

  • Conduct literature searches and reviews and continue to update knowledge and develop skills

  • Maintain accurate and complete records of all findings

  • Generate and display the results and interpret their implications

Administrative Duties

  • Actively participate as a member of a research team and attend and contribute to relevant meetings

  • Present research findings to colleagues and at conferences

  • Write progress reports and prepare results for publication and dissemination via presentations and the worldwide web

  • Write grants and manuscripts, teach professional pharmacy students, mentor students

  • Ordering of supplies

  • Performs other duties as assigned
