General Summary

Executive Director of Human Resources is responsible for all or part of these areas: Assist in supervision of daily operations of the Human Resources office;

Specific Position Duties

Designs, reviews, educates and oversees processes involved with posting vacant positions and hiring college employees, ensuring that proper employment guidelines are followed; Employee orientation, development, and training; Assists college supervisors with development and/or revision of Employee job descriptions; Oversees advertisement of open positions in appropriate publications as needed; Processes unemployment claims and reports; Coordinates long-range planning for Human Resources department; Prepares and/or reviews various payroll and human resources reports; Organization development, professional development; Administration of OC All-In Program; Employee relations; New hire employee orientation; Other duties as assigned. The Human Resources Manager originates and leads Human Resources practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented, high performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity and standards, goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce. The Human Resources Manager coordinates implementation of services, policies, and programs through Human Resources staff; and assists and advises employees about Human Resources issues. Primary Objectives: Safety of the workforce. Development of a superior workforce. Development of the Human Resources department. Development of an employee-oriented college culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, and high performance. Personal ongoing development.

Minimum Qualifications

1-2 years of previous HR Manager/Generalist experience or related field. Management of people and or processes that require documented systematic procedures to ensure continuity and success; Strong problem solving skills; Ability to work independently, to identify areas of improvement, development and implement solutions; Understanding of data collection and use of data to improve processes; Documented experience in dealing with a diverse public; Working knowledge of human resources, benefits and/or payroll processes, including legal implications of ADA, Title IX, FMLA and other pertinent laws; Demonstrated ability to learn a complex integrated information system; Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Professional appearance and demeanor that gains confidence of others in the person and the position; Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook;

Work Hours

Typical Mon - Thurs 8:00 am to 5:30 pm, Fridays 8 am to 1 pm Summer hours Mon - Thurs 7:30 am - 5:30 pm
