Research Assistant

Wayne State University is searching for an experienced Research Assistant at its Detroit campus location.

Essential functions (job duties):

  • Assist with clinical/epidemiological research investigations including:
    • research data entry
    • data analysis
    • generating research report documents
    • submitting and communicating with the human investigation committee proposals/amendments
    • data use agreements/research service agreements/contracts
    • invoices
    • communications with multi-center clinical research sites
  • Perform clinical/population science (human subjects) research.
  • Design and perform experiments
  • Recruit participants for studies by developing surveys and interviewing candidates.
  • Participate in implementing research objectives, ensuring compliance with all legal, regulatory and protocol guidelines.
  • Assist staff with experiments/research protocols as required.
  • Communicate with principal investigator and Postdoctoral scholars/fellows on the status of research.


Qualifications:

  • BS degree biological sciences or public health who is working on their MPH degree or a related healthcare field. (medical, nursing, pharmacy or public health)
  • Understands how to read patient charts and interpret patient data preferred
  • Knowledge/skill of office computer applications (Microsoft Suite, excel etc.)
  • Organization and communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task, take initiative, highly responsible and reliable.
