Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide retention and transitional support to Human Services student participants to encourage retention and success in postsecondary Human Services programs, particularly in Recovery Support Services. Plan, coordinate, deliver and report on transition and support activities leading to successful retention and completion of College programs, and participation in required support services. Provide case management support for participants and assist PI and co-Pls with data collection program compliance. Assist with outreach efforts with Admissions and Marketing to identify and recruit students into the Human Services program.
  • Meet regularly with Human Services students to inform them of educational opportunities and support services at COD.
  • Ensure student participation in required activities and academic support services.
  • Provide follow-up support and ensure participation in program services to assist students as they move through the Human Services program.
  • Academic and transition support goes beyond the student recruitment and enrollment stages, and will be handled in a case management and referral format.
  • Assist the Human Services Co-Chairs, Admissions and Outreach and Human Services faculty with recruiting and enrolling in the Human Services program according to the specified restrictions and program requirements, through presentations within classes, orientation sessions, flyers, marketing materials, word-of-mouth referrals, etc.
  • Represent program at events.
  • Assist in the refinement of support services to ensure retention and persistence to completion for Human Services students in their respective Human Services programs.
  • Collaborate with the PI, co-Pls and other college and program personnel on data collection and other activities as assigned to meet service and learning outcomes for student participants.
  • Develop relationships with various departments throughout COD, as well as external Human Services partners, to ensure students are appropriately linked to all available and appropriate resources.
  • Work with student participants as needed to complete necessary materials, identify an appropriate class schedule and create a long-term plan leading to further education through transfer to a four-year institution in their field and/or employment.
  • Serve as a point of contact along with the PI and co-Pls in connection with the Human Services students and all components of the program and its activities as assigned.
  • Participate in relevant meetings with relevant college departments, the Human Services Advisory Board, Grants Office, and others as relates to the successful completion of program activities.
  • Collaborate with Student Affairs and academic programs by using uniform procedures for tracking students, attending regular meetings, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Education
    • BA in Education, Liberal Arts or related field required.
    • MA in above disciplines or related field preferred.
  • Experience
    • 2-3 years working with undergraduate students in an advising, teaching or administrative support role required.
    • 3-5 years working in one of the above support roles with undergraduate students preferred.
  • Computer, multi-line telephone, calculator, copier, printer, electronic typewriter and scanner.
  • Pleasant office and campus, non-smoking, team environment.
  • This position requires a background check.

Pay Grade:
Classified 13 Salary Range - 60,000.00 - 60,000.00
