Job Description

The Department of Economics, Accounting and Business at Converse University is seeking adjunct instructors for Fall 2023 to teach these courses. Ability to teach face to face on Converse's main campus in Spartanburg is highly valued, as is the use of Excel in teaching both courses. Courses are already scheduled at the listed times.

ACC 212 Accounting Principles II: The second of our required principles courses. Management accounting topics such as product costing, budgeting, and decision-making are studied. 3 credits MWF 1:30-2:20 pm.

FIN 370 Business Finance: Planning, analyzing, and reporting the financing of business operations are examined in the course. Working capital, long term financing, capital budgeting, and cost of capital are also covered. The use of present and future values of financial amounts is stressed. (Prereqs required: ACC 211, 212 (principles/financial and managerial). 4 credits. TuTh 9:00-10:45 am (there is some flexibility in whether the class runs 9:00-10:45 am or 10:00-11:45 am).

Candidates should possess a Master's degree in Accountancy, or in Business Administration with an Accounting or Finance concentration, from an accredited institution of higher learning, and a CPA or other relevant certification or extensive work experience in accounting. Experience teaching at university level is preferred.
